The Bowen Technique
'...quite simply, one of the most effective and straight-forward,
hands-on therapies available'
Reflexology
'...reflexologists are seeing people who want to address their health
before it becomes a medical issue'
The Bowen Technique was pioneered by Tom Ambrose Bowen of Australia. He
had a great interest in massage and bodywork and spent time observing sportsman and others involved with sports. By the
time he was in his early 40's this gifted man had established a full time practice using the techniques that he had developed.
In 1973, when he was interviewed by an Australian parliamentary committee looking into complementary medicine he stated under
oath and proved, that he treated on average 280 patients a week, with an 88% success rate!
Mr. Bowen died in the early 1980's and it was only then that The Bowen Technique was given its name. He
taught five men his techniques one of whom made extensive notes and has taught others the Bowen Technique in Australia, New
Zealand, and the UK.
